5 Ways To Transition Your Make-Up For Autumn

I've been trying to experiment a little when it comes to make-up lately and I thought it would be appropriate to write up a little post sharing a few tips with you guys about how easy it can be to transition your make-up for Autumn.

1 - Add a berry lipstick into the mix! Dark, vampy and berry toned lipsticks look great in the Autumn. You can have such a natural make-up look and the effect of adding a dark lipstick is huge! It really does transform the look. My top pick would have to be the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte Lipstick in the shade 'Iced Mocha.'

2 - Get rid of the bronzer. I completely understand that it's nice to look bronzed all year round but removing that warm toned bronzer and just sticking with cool toned contour, your cheeks will instantly look beautifully natural and your make-up look will look a lot less summery! I use the Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder in the shade 'Light'.

3 - Use a setting powder. In the summer it's nice to look a bit dewy and have a natural glow to your skin. However, now Autumn is pretty much here, matte skin is a much better option. Using a setting powder will allow your skins natural glow to show through and look flawlessly matte at the same time. My favourite is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.

4. Switch up your eyeshadow shades. Autumn is the perfect time to bring out some of those cranberry toned eyeshadows you've got, or better, pick up some new ones! Perhaps use less of the bronze shades and start bringing in greys, smokey purples and matte browns.

5. Add some black liquid eyeliner. If you went easy on the eyeliner during the summer months, it's now time to bring it back! It adds definition to the eyes and I think it really completes a make-up look. Pretty much the only one I use is the Soap & Glory Supercat Skinny Liner.

Let me know if you have any tips on transitioning your make-up for Autumn!
