The inspiration for this post came to me at a very odd time. I literally just got out of the shower, shoved on my Spotify playlist and started singing and dancing to Jess Glyne (as you do).
Her new song called 'Don't be so hard on yourself' is such a good song, that's the first thing. But I'm not writing this post because of how much I love the song, it's a whole lot deeper than that!
I feel like a lot of the time we definitely are too hard on ourselves, put ourselves under a lot of pressure and sometimes blame ourselves for things that have happened. I won't go into detail, but recently I did something and then straight away regretted it. Then I realised, at the end of the day, I'm young and I'm on this planet to have fun! I would say I definitely try to live in the moment and if a rare opportunities comes up, I go for them! I try to be as adventurous as possible and yes of course, sometimes we all do things we regret, say something we shouldn't have or possibly make the wrong decision, but don't beat yourself up about it!
Once something has been done there is NO going back, remember that. Blaming yourself for something, regretting something or wishing things were different definitely isn't going to change what's happened. There is literally nothing you can do about the past, you just have to focus on the present day and the future.
Do not worry about the past, It's in the past for a reason!
So next time you're feeling angry or annoyed at yourself for something, please just remember, don't be so hard on yourself! You don't deserve to feel like that. Be happy, that's what you're living for!
Lots of love x
