Welcome back to the second post in this 'Let's Talk' series! Today I thought I would talk about foundations for pale skin because being a fair skinned person myself, I know how difficult it can be to find a foundation that doesn't look bright orange or just super dark on my skin! I'm going to share with you a few of my favourite foundations that are actually a good colour match and also a trick that I think could help some of you fellow fair skinned girls (or boys) out there!
The first foundation that I probably use the most out of all of them is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW13. Depending on whether I've got any fake tan on, this can occasionally be slightly dark for me because it's a high coverage foundation so it's very pigmented. This is definitely the foundation I reach for when I want my skin to look great and if I've got any blemishes I want covering. It's a medium to full coverage foundation and is very buildable. You can make the coverage slightly lighter by blending it in with a damp sponge, however I use a mixture of a blending brush and a sponge to achieve a medium/full coverage. I believe this is the lightest shade foundation that MAC do which is kind of rubbish because I could definitely get away with a lighter one on days where I'm fake tan free. But it's definitely a close match to my skin colour and I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a new foundation to try.
The second foundation I've discovered that's great for pale skin is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude Foundation. It's from the drugstore so is a cheaper alternative to MAC. I have this in the shade 010 Light Porcelain and it's very light in colour! The only thing I would say to be careful of though is that it's very pink toned! I think my skin is naturally quite pink toned but when I've got tan on (which is most of the time) I hate my foundation to be pink toned as it just doesn't look right! So, I don't actually use this foundation all that often but I thought I would mention it as I know pale skin is often pink toned so should hopefully suit some of you reading!
I also wanted to mention another favourite of mine, Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation! I tend to use this one on nights out as it's got great coverage! I actually have this in the second lightest shade so if you're even paler than me, there's an even lighter shade! I think Nars overall are really great at offering a varied range of shades. This foundation is one I quite often reach for as I absolutely love it! It's got a very lightweight texture but once buffed into the skin gives a really lovely flawless look!
The Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser is probably one of the best foundations for pale skin in this post! It's a very light coverage tinted moisturiser that I love to use on 'no make-up make-up days'. It smells amazing and feels so moisturising on the skin. I've got the shade 'Cameo' and it is a perfect colour for my skin when I've got no tan on! It's definitely a great product to invest in whether you're fair or not, especially if you've got dry skin as it's so moisturising!
The final product I want to talk about is the MAC Face & Body Foundation in 'white'. Don't worry, I'm not suggesting that you use this as a foundation alone if you've got fair skin, it's such a brilliant product that you can mix with any foundation to lighten it! So often I will purchase a foundation and after trying it I find that it's too orange or just dark in general but having this white foundation basically solves that problem. I mix a few drops of it in with my foundation if I haven't got any tan on or if my foundation isn't the perfect colour and this just fixes the problem! So having the MAC Face & Body Foundation in 'white' is my top tip if you're fair like me!
I hope this post was helpful! Let me know down below in the comments if you've got any tips for finding a foundation for fair skin!
Lots of love x
