My Favourite Highlighters

Today I'm going to be taking about one of my favourite make-up items, highlighter! In the last year or so everyone in the make-up world seems to have become a little obsessed with contouring and highlighting (which is fine by me!)

I try out a lot of new make-up products and today I wanted to talk you through a few of my favourite highlighters which are great for all skin tones but especially fair/pale skin like mine!

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer £17.49 - If you've not already heard about this product then you've probably been hiding away in a cupboard for the last year or so, as everyone is talking about this and I can 100% see why! I've had this highlighter for a really long time now and I think I'm close to hitting pan on it (what an exciting day that will be). It's a gorgeous champagne/golden coloured highlighter. It's super pigmented and it just has the prettiest effect the skin! It's incredible and honestly the best highlighter I've ever used! I love using it during the day but it's also a perfect one to use on a night out if you really want people to notice your highlight. I promise you, it is completely worth the money!

Rosie For Autograph Highlighting Powder £18 - Another gorgeous highlighter which is pretty new out! You may not have heard many people talk about this highlighter but I can guarantee as soon as people start to try it, everyone will be talking about it! It's a loose highlighting powder which is slightly different to others I have tried but the unique packaging keeps it pretty much mess free! The colour of this one is more pink toned and looks stunning on lighter skin tones! It's quite a safe highlighter to go for as I feel like you'd have to apply a serious amount for it to look over the top. This is a great one to go for during the day or if you're going for a more natural make-up look!

The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter £12 - I'm not usually a fan of liquid highlighters however this one is an exception (and the one below haha). Again, I've had this for quite some time and although I don't use it on a daily basis, I find that it's a great one for the summer time! It goes so well on top of a light base. I always find myself reaching for this on lighter make-up days and I love it! It's a pink pearly colour and just looks so fresh on the skin! It's also a great multitasking product as I occasionally use it as a make-up primer or mix if with my foundation or bb cream for a 'glow with in' sort of look.

Soap & Glory Hocus Focus Illuminator £11 - This is the latest addition to my collection of highlighters. Soap & Glory recently sent me a box of goodies to try out which was super kind of them and one of the products was this and I've found myself using it quite a bit. It's a liquid highlighter but again can be used in so many different ways. It's so illuminating and really does give an incredible glow to the skin! Because it's a liquid formula I only really use this on lighter make-up days as I don't want it to move my foundation. I find the best way to blend this into the skin is by using either my fingers or my beauty blender sponge and just dab very gently.

What is your favourite highlighter?

Lots of love x

  1. I've seen you talk about that Rosie for autograph highlighter a few times on your channel now and each time makes me want to buy it more and more. It looks gorgeous and I think I might need to add it to my collection! xx
