My make-Up Story TAG

How old were you when you started wearing make-up?

I think I was probably around 12 when I first started getting into make-up. I just used to wear the odd bit of mascara and probably some of that dreaded Dream Matte Mousse (we've all been there haha). Because I'm blonde and very fair, my eyelashes and brows are blonde and basically non existent so I started wearing mascara at quite a young age. My mum has always been into make-up too so it wouldn't surprise me if I was experimenting with make-up at an even younger age. Saying that, I do actually remember being interested in it when I was literally 5 years old, I always wanted that old school tacky make-up for little kids; I was extremely girly.

How did you get into make-up?

Probably the same way that most young girls do. When I was around the age of 12/13 It just suddenly became a thing that everyone was trying and having a mum and older sister interested in make-up, I guess it made it a lot easier for me to get my hands on it!

What are some of your favourite brands?

Soap & Glory, MAC, Urban Decay, Collection and Benefit!

What does make-up mean to you?

Wearing make-up gives me a lot of confidence and definitely gives me the ability to make myself look the way I want to. I love trying out new products and experimenting to see what I like and dislike. It's a way of expression and I just generally love how putting on a little (or a lot) of make-up can make me so much happier and more confident in myself.

If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?

Mascara, Eyebrow product, Concealer and winged eyeliner!

What is your favourite thing about make-up?

This is basically going to sound the same as one of my other answers but my favourite thing about make-up is that it can make me feel SO much happier! It's probably bad to say, but I don't really have the confidence to leave the house without any make-up on, I'm just not happy without it so I love being able to put some make-up on, transform my face and enhance my features!

What do you think of Drugstore VS High End make-Up?

If I'm completely honest, I love both. I love finding a good bargain in the drugstore but at the same time, there's something so satisfying about buying a high end product and adding it to my make-up collection. I often feel some sense of achievement (which I know is silly) after I've bought a high end make-up product. You do often get what you pay for as well! But yeah, I obviously love both and some of my all time favourite make-up products are drugstore!

What is one tip you would give to a beginner?

If you want to wear make-up, wear it and if you don't want to, then don't! Simple. Make-up is about expressing yourself so do whatever the heck you want. Following make-up trends can be fun and let's face it, we all do, but coming up with your own ideas is cool too. Oh and one last tip, don't go through the dreaded Dream Matte Mousse phase!

What is one make-up trend you've never understood?

FOUNDATION LIPS! It's not that I've never understood it, it just looks bloody awful and I'm definitely glad that it doesn't seem to be a 'thing' anymore.

What do you think of the beauty community on YouTube?

I love it, obviously and that's why I'm part of it! You probably all know that I upload beauty related videos over on YouTube, if not, you do now! I absolutely love it and that's why I do it! Most of the time people are incredibly supportive and leave extremely lovely comments on my videos which I am eternally grateful for, however you do get the odd person who unnecessarily gives their ridiculous opinion but it's okay, I just ignore them!

Thank you to Jasmine from JasmineMcRae for tagging me to do this post, It's been fun!
