As a VERY late birthday treat for my 18th Birthday (try 5 months late) we visited the Magdalen Chapter which is a gorgeous hotel near my hometown for afternoon tea. I or nobody in my family had ever been to afternoon tea before, but it's always been something I loved the look of and we definitely weren't disappointed.
The Magdalen Chapter is gorgeous anyway, such a nice place to go and spend the day, and the afternoon tea was great too!
My sister and I are both vegetarian but they didn't mind at all and just switched around one of the sandwich options for us.
We had a traditional Afternoon Tea, alongside a glass of Champagne which was delicious! The sandwich selection was smoked salmon, Cheese & Tomato Chutney, Cream Cheese & Chive and Ham for the non-vegetarians and they were all really lovely.
We then had warm scones (which I'm not usually a fan of, but I loved these) with lots of cream and jam. Then, on the top tier we had a yummy selection of pastures and little sweet treats which were also really delicious! My favourite would have to be the coffee cake or the flapjack.
All in all it was something different to do and we all had a really lovely day. We will definitely be heading back to the Magdalen Chapter soon for a meal or another afternoon tea!
Have you ever been to afternoon tea? What was it like?
Lots of love x

This place looks stunning! I used to work in a place like this and serve afternoon tea. It's my 20th birthday next month and this has definitely given me inspiration!
